You’ve always been taught that being a good Muslim woman means:
• Staying ‘humble’, ‘modest’ and ‘shy’ - instead of bold, confident and courageous
• Prioritising others' needs above your own
• Suppressing your desires, dreams, and even doubts
• Accepting treatment that seems unfair to women
• Following rules and rituals that don’t feel right, or even spiritual
And then on top of that, we see the pain and suffering of women in our community, often when people misuse Islam to impose harmful cultural traditions - that actually have nothing to do with Islam!
We start shrinking under the weight of responsibility of family expectations, domestic labour, and being a dutiful wife, daughter-in-law, mother, sister and all the other roles we are expected to play at our own expense.
Deep down, something feels off. You sense there's more—more freedom, more joy, more strength, and a deeper, more empowering relationship with Allah. But you're unsure where to start, who to talk to, or even how to trust yourself. There are so many ‘teachers’, ‘scholars’ and spiritual ‘guides’ out there - from your YouTube Sheikhs and TikTok Preachers, to your Maulana Sahib at the mosque, and Aunty Shagufta who has weirdly strong opinions about ‘the problem with modern girls these days’.
Even big names (which I won’t mention) come out with things that seem at best well-meaning but old-fashioned, and at worst manipulative, sexist and downright predatory.
So you end up searching for answers from Sheikh Google on websites like Islam QA - and leave feeling even worse than before! They will have you believe that as a woman you are inferior to men, weak of intellect, over-emotional and in need of discipline and male guardianship; and that you should have no rights over your body, your family, your career or your relationships with your husband, in-laws and parents.
But don’t worry, you're not alone—and you're not wrong to feel confused, lost and grasping for some shred of compassion and common sense amongst our so-called leaders. I have been exactly where you are (see My Story below) and so I created a community where Muslim women can be themselves, ask challenging questions, find REAL answers (instead of patriarchal dogma) and a supportive Sisterhood, so that they can Heal, Grow and Rise into the powerful, confident, and spiritually fulfilled women that we ALL deserve to be.
Before we can rise, we must remember. Educate is where the Rising Sisterhood begins — with knowledge, truth, and unlearning. Through powerful monthly masterclasses with world-class Islamic feminist scholars, we will unravel patriarchal distortions, uncover our divine rights, and realign ourselves with the liberatory essence of Islam.
This Key is about awakening to the truth that Islamic knowledge production has been dominated by male elites, with the result that women are not always treated fairly in Muslim legal tradition. The key here is that it is not only ok - but necessary - to question our scholarly traditions and investigate the possibility of practicing an Islam that is rooted in Quranic values of beauty, love, truth, justice and peace - and of course, women’s equality.
This monthly class will equip women with spiritual confidence, knowledge about feminist interpretations of our sacred texts, and the courage to ask bold questions.
Topics may include:
The myth of women’s inferiority: are we really ‘a degree below men’?
Challenging harmful Hadith and cultural misinterpretations
Women’s rights in marriage, divorce & polygamy
Women’s sexual and reproductive rights
Modesty, Hijab, and ‘Islamic dress codes’
Domestic violence - what does ‘daraba’ really mean?
AND SO MUCH MORE
Evolve is your invitation to journey inward. Our monthly Women’s Empowerment Circle is where deep transformation begins: by coming home to yourself, facing the shadows, and committing to healing the wounds left by patriarchal conditioning and trauma.
Through circle sharing, group coaching, reflective exercises, and Fearless Feminine Wisdom teachings, we learn to move beyond fear, shame, and people-pleasing — and into the fullness of our sovereignty. You’ll be supported to release old stories and reclaim your life as the creator of your own reality.
These sessions help you identify and transform the ways patriarchal narratives have shaped your self-esteem, relationships, and life choices. Through deep reflection, self-discovery, emotional healing, and empowering personal development, you'll reclaim your power and step fully into your authentic self.
You’ll explore essential questions such as:
Where have you unconsciously given your power away?
How has patriarchal conditioning impacted your self-worth and relationships?
In what ways can you reclaim your voice and your boundaries?
Your wholeness is not something to earn — it’s something to remember.
We have been taught to fear, hide, or control our bodies. Shame, guilt and over-work have been programmed into women’s bodies for thousands of years, the result of which is often physical illness, pain and disease - and a deep lack of self-love. But our bodies are sacred — they hold memory, rhythm, intuition, and power. In Embody, we return to our sensual, cyclical, feminine nature. We drop out of the mind and into movement, breath, stillness, and flow.
You’ll be guided through gentle feminine embodiment practices like womb awareness, cycle syncing, feminine yoga, somatic healing, and more. These sessions will reconnect you with your body as a spiritual teacher — not something to fix, but something to feel.
This pillar is also about decolonising our relationship to wellness, and reclaiming ancient ways of healing. We will be looking at the mind-body-spirit connection, womb cycle awareness, the seasons of a woman’s life, embodied movement and so much more.
Express gives women permission to use their voices to raise grievances, speak out against injustice, and shed light on the dark side of our community.
Women are held to standards of ‘politeness’ and ‘respect’ - which has allowed men (and women!) to perpetuate damaging patterns of behaviour and keep injustice and abuse hidden within the four walls of our homes. Silencing women has been the most powerful weapon of the patriarchy, enforced through notions of ‘shame’ and ‘honour’, which keep women fearful of raising their voices. And how many times have we heard that women are going to hell becuase they are ungrateful and complain too much?
Well, in our monthly Community Forum, you have full permission to complain and release your frustration! This is a judgement-free zone - no shaming or haram-policing tolerated!
This is where the sisterhood meets to be REAL - no filter required here. You will have a safe space to raise social issues that affect women: in their homes, their families, relationships/marriage, at work, in the wider community, on the streets.
We will also be using creative practices to unleash and process anger, rage and sadness, including writing, singing, poetry - and a good dose of humour!
Elevate is the soul of the Rising Sisterhood, where we meet the Sacred Feminine within ourselves, reawakening our spiritual nature that is ever-present even amidst the noise and pressure of the world.
Know yourself, know your Rabb.

I am on a mission to spread the Truth about women’s rights in Islam, to expose the lies about women’s so-called inferiority, and to unveil how deeply patriarchal conditioning has wounded us all.
These lies have been designed to destroy a woman’s self-worth – subtly, insidiously, and from the inside out – often without you even realizing it. They keep you small, over-giving, and chained to a system that does not honor, care for, or even respect you as a woman.
But it doesn’t have to be this way. Once you know the Truth, you can begin to heal and embark on your own incredible journey toward empowerment as a Muslim woman. And when you do, your life will look and feel completely different.
You’ll stop trying to fit into a fabricated ideal of the "Ideal Muslimah." You’ll stop people-pleasing and disconnecting from your own desires. Instead, you’ll know who you truly are and find the courage to live authentically, fearlessly, and in alignment with your values. You’ll no longer bend to cultural expectations but learn to stand up for yourself in peaceful and healthy ways.
This journey will deepen your relationship with Allah and give you an unshakeable faith to carry you through life’s challenges. You’ll develop the confidence, backed by knowledge, to articulate your rights as a Muslim woman to anyone who tries to "put you back in your place." You’ll embrace a healthier lifestyle, respecting your unique feminine body, energy, and cycles. And you will experience Joy, Freedom, and Peace every single day.
All this is possible – I know, because I’ve lived it. But it starts by opening your eyes to see the cage that has been built around us. You cannot free yourself if you don’t even realize you’re in captivity.
My purpose is not only to help you see this cage but to hand you the key to escape it – and to make sure you never step back inside.
Are you ready to awaken to the truth of your own power, and Rise into the woman you were always meant to be?
For years, I thought being a good Muslim woman (you know, ‘The Ideal Muslimah’) meant being patient, unquestioning, and silently struggling with my inner challenges and intrusive thoughts I had about gender and Islam. Like, do I really believe that men are a ‘degree above women’? Am I really meant to hide my beauty and femininity, due to its ‘fitna’? Am I really ok with the idea that men can have four wives? Are we really meant to submit to male authority and leadership? (And even little things like am I bad for doing my eyebrows or wearing perfume or wearing a sleeveless top in Summer?!)
I swallowed my doubts, ignored my intuition, and suppressed my desires - I wrongly believed that my discomfort was a sign of weakness in my faith, not the strength of my inner knowing and belief in a Benevolent God.
Until one day, I couldn’t ignore it anymore. My inner Feminine Wisdom began to awaken, and she would be not be quiet! I began a journey of many years of spiritual truth-seeking, and even completed a PhD in Muslim Women’s Empowerment - my thirst for knowledge led me to learn, unlearn and completely shift what I believed about ‘women’s status in Islam’, and in doing so I completely transformed my own life.
The truth is, Islam was never meant to be a tool for our oppression. It was never meant to silence us, control us, or strip us of our power. But patriarchy? Well, that’s the real villain, and it’s done a great job of twisting the narrative and convincing us that we are inferior to men (and of course this has been fully supported by the majority of Muslim scholars for hundreds of years).
This has far-reaching consequences for us in all areas of our lives - our marriages, our careers, our confidence and self-esteem, our parenting, our self-expression, our health and wellbeing, our spiritual growth, our hopes and dreams…the list goes on. The sad fact is that patriarchy has infiltrated our psyches and is influencing us all the time, whether we consciously realise it or not.
That’s why I started the Rising Sisterhood—to create a space where Muslim women can learn how to reclaim the truth of who we are, without limits and with our faith intact. And then’s when we can step into the power that has always been ours - despite what the patriarchy would have us believe.
